KC tells all in her very first live interview

A nervous KC Concepcion appeared in front of the camera for her very first live interview on The Buzz yesterday (August 10), but was very upfront in answering every question that Boy Abunda threw at her.

Being the daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, who are considered showbiz royalties, KC admitted that she is thankful for everything that she has and for all the opportunities that has come her way. "I feel blessed to have the family I have," she began. "What I have (now) is what I’ve always wanted to have. Kung ano ang dumating sobrang blessing."

KC also clearly conveyed the message that although she has popular parents, she does not have everything. She is open in saying that it is not easy being her, especially the pressure she has of having a famous mom and dad. "Double, triple, five times, ten times more pressure yung nararamdaman ko ngayon," she shared, referring to her first movie, For the First Time. It is as if there is an expectation in the industry for her to churn a box-office hit, much like what her mom did during her younger years. However, the young star explained that she does not resent the downsides brought about by her fame. "Ang buhay ko naman kasi parang pelikula. Blessing siya more than anything," she shared. "Siyempre may malungkot na side, may side na nakakainis, pero more than anything it’s given me so much and thankful ako talaga."

Being highly identified as Sharon’s daughter, the aspiring actress said that she does not have any conscious efforts to move away from her mom’s shadow. "Inspirayson siya," KC firmly said about her mom, who just celebrated her 30 years in the industry. She described her mom as very strict but getting married to Sen. Francis Pangilinan, made things a little bit easier on her. She also said that not only did she gain a step dad, but Sen. Kiko has improved her relationship with her mom. She calls the senator "Dad" and admits that she has taken a lot of his advice about life to heart. "Marami rin siyang naituro na kahit sinong magulang ituturo sa kanyang anak," KC described. "Siya ang nagturo sa akin kung ano ang ibig sabihin ng pagmamahal. Yung capacity para magmahal nang sobra." KC even added that she admired Sen. Kiko for marrying her mother even though she had a daughter from a previous marriage.

KC is not resentful of her biological father, Gabby Concepcion. "Yung love unconditional. Papa ko siya kahit anong mangyari, kahit 13 years kami hindi nagkita. Papa ko siya. I love him kasi he’s my father." She also talked about her late grandfather, former Pasay Mayor Pablo Cuneta, who filled in the shoes of a father figure until she was 11-years-old. She said that she would like to make him proud, especially now that she is living her dream.

After thanking the people who served as her parents; Gabby, Sen. Kiko, the late Mayor Pablo Cuneta and her grandmother Elaine Cuneta, KC gave a very touching message to her mom. "I would not be here without you. You inspired me all of my life, ikaw talaga ang gusto kong mapanood all the time and you are who you are. I just look up to you, you have done so much and by example have taught me a lot. Sana kung ano ang namana ko sa iyo, sana maganda ang kalabasan."
