I love to cook! Our kitchen is my kingdom. My recipe collection is growing out of hand. I have recipes that I collected from friends, magazines, newspapers, calendars, internet, the back of cans and boxes. I thought I would post my cooking adventure online to share with everyone. I call it "my cooking adventure" because I rarely follow a recipe exactly. For me, a recipe is just a suggestion from someone who has tried out a meal before. So it's always an adventure in my kitchen.
Ingredients:
1 small head iceberg lettuce
2 oranges (peeled into segments)
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Dressing:
1/2 cup tomato catsup
1 cup salad oil
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon sea salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce
2 tablespoons hot water
1 tablespoon salad vinegar
(optional)
Wash iceberg lettuce and pat dry with a clean towel. Tear into bite-size pieces, wrap in the towel and refrigerate for about an hour.
In a salad bowl arrange layers of iceberg lettuce, orange segments, then spinkle with nuts.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Serve with dressing on the side. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
Combine dressing ingredients in a blender until well blended.
